This route was planned by komoot.
The tour is 12.5 km, the last 2 are missing from the map due to unloading. Asphalt surface, currently short detour (bad, signaling) on the provincial road due to the footbridge under repair, very beautiful lake in all seasons, rich in aquatic fauna. Unfortunately, in recent years the lotus flower has spread which, given the small size of the lake, causes serious damage to the fauna and other native aquatic plants. In Ternate there is a large park with a bar for refreshment, games for children and gymnastic equipment. In Mercallo there is a bio-pool with a relaxation area and a bar. Excellent route also for cycle tourism with connection to the cycle and pedestrian path of Lake Varese (another 28 km)
Ridiculous altitude data, the Garmin crashed. It's practically all flat
An easy walk around the lake. There are several parking options along the route. Starting at any point is possible. The route runs partly along the road, but mostly through the forest and along the lake. Easy.
Small lake of glacial origin just below Lake Varese to which it was once connected. It clearly represents the evolutionary process that will lead the pre-Alpine lakes to an ever-increasing degree of trophy and burial. Completely surrounded by a cycle/pedestrian path, I recommend starting from Mercallo and going clockwise, the opposite of what I did, as the stretch from Mercallo to Comabbio is rather boring. In Ternate there is a top park for children, but also pleasant for adult picnics
Mostly along the lake, sometimes along the main road, but always well separated there off. Some restaurant /bars along the way.

I took my dog for a walk, I had to pick him up on the Ternate walkway because he wasn't comfortable. Probably not suitable for dogs
It was supposed to be something different. Planned a bike ride, a big hitch made it fall through. But that's okay too...
