This route was planned by komoot.
In St. Ulrich we took the funicular up the mountain and walked a fantastic panoramic loop to Ausserratschötz. Komoot omitted 2km.
Another highlight in St. Ulrich. The weather gave me a few more challenges. A heavy winter set in in the middle of September. Up to 80 cm of snow, so that the path disappeared under a blanket of snow. It was good that komoot navigated perfectly. I was on the trail for 3 hours in total. In between, short "thinking breaks" in the deep snow were necessary.
Relaxed, beautiful hike with only a slight climb to a summit cross at the entrance to Val Gardena. It's usually a little more crowded at the summit cross, but the area is so spacious that you can still find a nice place to take a break and enjoy the view. The location of the summit cross enables a great 360° view of Val Gardena, the Seiser Alm with the Sciliar and some of the mountains in the Funes Valley. On the way there you pass a hut with refreshments and a small chapel.
Fantastic family hike! From the mountain station of the Raschötz funicular, the route goes through fragrant, light pine forest, heath and wide alpine meadows to the summit. Fantastic views of the prominence of the Dolomites included. The Puez-Geisler group, Sella massif, Sasso Lungo group, Marmolada and Schlern are there. So beautiful that you don't want to go back down.
The funicular takes you up from Ortisei in no time at all, and the view of the surrounding mountains becomes more impressive with every meter you go up. Arrived at the mountain station at 2100 m, you have a wonderful panorama of the Val Gardena Dolomites. The highest point of Rasciesa is the summit cross in the far west. The additional ascent to the cross is worthwhile because, once you have arrived at the top, you have a unique panorama and can also look north to the main Alpine ridge.
One of the easiest and most rewarding hikes in Val Gardena is on Resciesa. If you're in Ortisei, a funicular goes up to the trail head. From the end station, a 5 km loop takes you to Resciesa Di Fuori (2283m) and back, on two parallel trails; one is close to the ridge and the other a few hundred meters lower. Holiday in Val Gardena. The starting point is at the mountain station of the funicular coming from St. Ullrich. This takes you the 800 m altitude difference in about 7 minutes to 2123 m (30 €/person up and down). Unfortunately I activated Komoot too late, so the starting point is a bit higher up. First through a sparse coniferous forest, later across the plateau past the Raschötzhütte to the Holy Cross Chapel. Then on to the summit cross (2281 m) with a beautiful view of the Sasso Lungo, Sella group and towards the Ötztal Alps (supposedly you have the best view of the Sasso Lungo from Raschötz). Following the path further towards the Flitzer-Scharte you reach the Borgleshütte, which is only five minutes from the mountain station.
