This route was planned by komoot.
The tour starts from the 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐞 station, immediately attacking the paved climb towards the Manie plateau. It's the classic, smooth and steady climb, perfect for warming up the legs and gaining altitude without any sudden changes. This section coincides with the famous route of the 24th Manie, albeit with one change: a segment of the old mule track, now impassable and overgrown with rocks, has been eliminated. Once you reach the plateau, you enter the heart of the race's historic route: flowing singletrack, compact dirt roads, and technical sections on rocks, typical of the Ligurian hinterland. The landscape is characteristic of the woods above Finale, interrupted by short panoramic openings that offer glimpses of the sea. The trail alternates fast, flowing sections with more challenging sections, with peaks of technicality in sections like the 𝐓𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐠𝐚, which retains the essence of a natural flow trail made up of sequential turns. The descents require mastery of the bike: there are no extreme sections, but the loose terrain and rocky outcrops can be surprising. Water is found only in two places along the trail: from the campsite and from the bar at the end of the slide. The loop closes with the 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐚 𝐋𝐚 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐚, a long, steep, rocky descent that leads almost all the way back to the center of Finale. An ancient connecting trail, today it offers a fun and technical finale, ideal for burning off any remaining energy. In total, the route is approximately 30 km long with a 500 m elevation gain: accessible to those with a basic level of fitness and familiarity with natural terrain. It's a complete and rewarding ride, recommended for intermediate and expert bikers, preferably on dry terrain to maximize its flow and handling. Important: we initially descended from the right Briga and then for a stretch from the left one. Part of the trail is prohibited to bicycles (there are signs). You should descend with your bike, and local residents are happy to "remind" you of this if they see you. Please note (https://www.finaleoutdoor.com/it/trails-walls/briga-sinistra)
Departure from the square of Palazzo Buraggi, a piece of Aurelia and then go up via Maine. The route has a considerable slope, but being asphalted it is easy to climb, plus there is a fantastic view. At km 5.61 there is a detour if you want, following "Località Merlo" and "Località Brera 9" which rejoins our route between km 8 and 9, which as you can see from the track we took the wrong road in the direction of "Camping San Martino ". The piece of road we traveled was a nice dirt road, so uphill was probably doable. We then continued on the asphalt and then took the path that leads to the "Traffic light Carabinieri - Capo Noli". The route is from km 10 to 13, it is a beautiful dirt road, which can even be traveled with an off-road vehicle, which has many panoramic points overlooking Noli. From the traffic light we then wanted to take the path "Descent Capo Noli" but we made a mistake and took "Salita Noli - Capo Noli", because the detour at km 13.2 seemed too bad for our abilities. The route we traveled, beyond having to pay attention to pedestrians, is quite beautiful, not very simple but feasible. Then at km 14.3 we followed a sign that spoke of a detour perhaps due to landslides. Actually I think that going straight was the best thing, which led to km 14.5, as the suggested detour was a small path, which passed near the hermitage of the Captain now destroyed and then arrive at the church of Santa Margherita. From the church then practically begins a mule track, quite manageable, apart from the final piece which was not beautiful. After that we arrived in Noli. Let's say that the path is quite passable, there are no insurmountable challenges, but above all the part of the descent after the traffic light requires a minimum of capacity, as in any case it is a path with a stony bottom.
The only asphalt climb from Finalpia to the entrance for the Finale paragliding take-off and another short section on the way back, the rest are all beautiful paths including the new entry Briga mule track. Left downhill from the Osteria della Briga towards Finalpia. After about a km from the At the entrance there is a crossroads, on the left Finalpia on the right for Verzi and Calvisio, so you can leave the car in Calvisio and go up from the Roman Bridges.
I had a completely different program, very demanding, but shortly after departure due to a mechanical problem I returned to the base to resolve the situation... the loss of time led me to change destination with a short trip to Le Manie... shame because the day was splendid
Too early, still a lot of mud and rivulets after the recent rains, but despite this this route remains one of the most beautiful in the Finale area. Next time with the drier terrain we will also go up to do the toboggan. The view enjoyed when reaching the extreme tip of the Capo Noli cliff beyond the repeater is spectacular.
After a good 10 hour journey, it should take a few more turns of the bike before checking in. So we quickly put together a little tour and off we went. The short panoramic tour came at just the right time. Quickly over to Noli with some beautiful views, but also a few tough trail sections. A small part of the round was on the 24-hour final course. They're crazy, racing through the trails for over 24 hours. I praise the relaxed sightseeing tours 🤩
Repetition of the beautiful loop at the Manie, this time we went down to visit Verzi, a beautiful village and then we continued instead of on Briga Sinistra on the downhill trail towards Finalpia called Briga Destra, in some places very broken down, rocky and wet from the recent rains, better to do Briga Sinistra. Piero lost his cell phone on the 24 Hours, after several kilometers we immediately went back and found it on the path.
