In the heart of the Costa Daurada, the coastal town of Cambrils maintains a double personality. On the one hand, the fishing and maritime tradition of its port makes it a top-level tourist destination, with beaches and restaurants where you can enjoy the sea and Mediterranean cuisine. But it is enough to go a little inland to discover a rural character that survives thanks to its excellent soil, and which still preserves an important agricultural tradition. There you find an agrarian mosaic in which woody crops such as olive, hazelnut, almond and carob trees predominate, but also an irrigated fruit and vegetable garden. It is an easy Route that can be done with mountain or gravel bikes, to be able to circulate without problem on the dirt tracks of the interior.

The Route begins just in front of the port of Cambrils, from where you continue south along its promenade. You pass by different beaches of the municipality, such as the one of the Llosa or the one of l'Ardiaca. When you reach the end of the Riudecanyes stream, turn inland. After passing under the train tracks and the highway, the landscape changes radically. You leave behind the most touristic urbanization to enter the so-called Plana del Baix Camp, which is characterized by its eminently agricultural character. Between fields you arrive at the height of Mont-roig del Camp, where you turn towards the east, to start the return towards Cambrils.

Shortly after, the Route passes the Teixells castle, the old San Rafael farmhouse, built in exposed stone and excellently preserved. Teixells was previously a segregated municipality, center of the fertile plain of the Plana del Baix Camp. Due to its importance and being at a strategic crossroads, the farmhouse was fortified to defend itself against attacks. When you get to Cambrils, you pass by the Cambrils History Museum. It is impossible to get confused, since it is presided over by the Torre del Port, an old watchtower that since the 17th century was in charge of protecting the port from pirate attacks. You can finish the day with a bath and eating in one of the many seafood restaurants that are next to the port.
