Start 🅿️ Beukenlaan A beautiful walk just below Nijmegen - Heumensoord. Unfortunately, the rhododendrons had already finished blooming and the heather was not yet in bloom. You cannot see all seasons at the same time. Still a very beautiful walk through the forests of Heumensoord. Not back on the 🅿️ in time for the heavy rain shower. About the Heumensoord area Near Nijmegen you will find Heumensoord, a nature reserve with old beech avenues and enormous rhododendrons. At this spot you can see the remains of a Roman guard post from the 3rd century. In the past, the Roman highway from Maastricht to Nijmegen was located here.
