The valley of the Artiga de Lin is one of the most beautiful places in the Val d'Aran. This small valley receives the contribution of numerous torrents that come from the Maladeta glacier and, in turn, give life to the Joèu river, a tributary of the Garonne. The glacial cirque that presides over this small valley offers you a dreamlike landscape, with the Maladeta massif in the background, surrounded by lush forests, meadows and the ever-present water that emerges from every corner.
You start the Route in the car park to take a path that descends to the sources of the Joèu river, known as Uelhs deth Joeu (devil's eyes). These waters arise directly from the rock after going through the interior of the mountain for several kilometres. After crossing the Joèu river and skirting the waterfall, you ascend through a beech and fir forest.
Leaving the latter, the spectacular plain of Artiga de Lin awaits you, with the glacial cirque in the background. You are facing one of the most beautiful views of all the Pyrenees! Imposing peaks such as the Serra des Neres, the Malh des Pois, the Malh dera Artiga or the Tuca Blanca de Pomerò close this impressive circus surrounding its green meadows. After crossing the river again, the Route returns to the starting point passing through the refuge and the Pomerò gutter, another stream that flows into the Joèu river and which comes from the nearby Tuc de Pomerò.

Water plays a central role in the Val d'Aran. Both the "Sauth deth Pish" waterfall and the countless mountain lakes in the Aigüestortes National Park characterize the landscape and almost every mountain tour. On the easy hike described here, water is also one of the central elements in the unique natural landscape of the Pyrenees: Uelhs deth Joeu & Artiga de Lin.
