This superb linear walk follows a route across the moorland spine of the Preseli Hills, known as ‘the Golden Road’. An ancient way, thought to be around 5,000 years old, it’s unsurprisingly rich in history, with even a hint of Arthurian legend and associations with Stonehenge. Being a one-way route,…

July 1, 2023, Day 1 The Golden Road across the Preseli Hills — Pembrokeshire Coast National Park

Day 1 of my Preseli hike in Pembrokeshire. I have been wanting to do this walk for ages now and it didn't disappoint. You can park at the car park where there is ample parking. The routes then goes along the rolling hills and up to Foel Drygarn. It is an ancient route and apparently king Arthur is buried there... "the Late Neolithic henge and circle of standing stones known as Bedd Arthur ('Arthur's Grave'). It is claimed by local folklore to be the final resting place of King Arthur." Ate Bilberries until my tongue turned blue 🫐... Barely a soul in sight and got an amazing sunset across the Preseli's 🥰 happy days or in Welsh 'dyddiau hapus'
