This Tour lets you discover the coast between Plouzané and Pointe Saint-Mathieu. It is a magnificent and varied route, rich in natural and maritime heritage.
Unlike the 20 kilometer route which takes place in a loop, this one is linear, and therefore requires a little more organization in terms of transport. A bus from Plougonvelin or Conquet drops you off near the starting point. To get to the start of the Tour by bus, take line 11 from Plougonvelin or Le Conquet, and get off at the La Trinité stop.
You start at the Plouzané velodrome before heading towards the coastal path. You arrive on the coast at the Goulet de Brest, directly opposite the Crozon peninsula.
The Petit Minou lighthouse signals the end of Brest harbor. However, the maritime landscape continues to be dominated by the peninsula for a few more kilometers. You go around the Trez Hir beach before climbing towards the Bertheaume fort. Built on a rocky islet during the 17th century to watch over the entrance to the narrows, this strategic position offers you exceptional views of the harbor.
Leaving Fort Bertheaume, you have one last big hill to climb before heading towards the tip of Créac’h Meur. This is the segment that I like the most in this Collection. Each turn reveals new landscapes and you have the impression of being alone in the world, suspended between cliffs and sea. After a few technical passages, the terrain flattens out and you can see your arrival point at the Saint-Mathieu lighthouse .
In creating these routes, I tried to stay as faithful as possible to the race routes. However, the official courses leave the trails several times, so a few segments of the 37 kilometer race are not included in my routes:
1) The part in the undergrowth, three kilometers after the start, is modified each year.
2) Around 16 kilometers, the race leaves the public road to go around the Petit Minou lighthouse.
3) Around 25 kilometers, there is a passage on Trez Hir beach.
