This route was planned by komoot.
Very nice Klompenpad of about 12 to 13 km. I could not view the floodplains because they were closed until October 15, 2024 due to work on the weir. There was an update route from the makers of the klompenpad. I myself did not use it because I would have to walk over the same section twice, I chose to walk along the cycle path to the turn-off of the weir and then turn left onto the path. (Cascades). In heavy rain, paths can be muddy. For me the most beautiful Klompenpad so far.
Walked the Doorwerthsepad without the floodplains together with @Ria. Just before the parking lot, a pheasant crossed very quietly. So right in the picture. After we first had a cup of coffee / tea we went on the road. At the beginning the route was suddenly indicated differently than we are used to, the volunteers are working on the path to replace all the signs and to adjust the route slightly. We went back on the old route. And nice walk through the forest where the sun also came out. Ria tried to lift a tree, but it was too heavy. Ended with a nice sandwich and wine.
A lovely walk around Doorwerth with decent climbs and descents. Beautiful as the forest looks now. Definitely worth walking again in a different time of the year
Beautiful trail. Rainfall on the way. But ran nicely dry under the canopy.
Start and end point Kasteel Doorwerth ☕️ in the village Heveadorp at an Italian restaurant, but it only opens at 5 PM and on Sundays from 1 PM 🪑 about 25 pieces 🐕 are allowed and in some places also off-leash ⛰️ requires some fitness but is doable
A little in time away so that we are ahead of the worst heat. I even thought it was fresh this morning. A nice trip and as Ria writes, I have looked at the ground very closely 🤪, I often get caught with my laces in the other shoe, and yes then you go for the better groundwork. Fortunately Ria was able to help me up. This way the walking remains adventurous!
Started today from Castle Doorwerth. Climbing and descending through the woods where the traces of the storm are still clearly visible. Unfortunately, the Westerbouwing is still closed, but luckily @Ria had hot water with her again for a nice cup of tea on the way. Later walked through the floodplains and gave the cows priority to walk to the other side. In the meadow next to the common sheep walked a few with very long hair. And of course we end our walk with a sandwich at La Maison.
The weather was good and dry, so climbing and descending in the forest over the barrier through the floodplains was a bit muddy, but that didn't bother me. When I got home, I immediately scraped the mud off my shoes, but first I had a cup of coffee at Doorwerth Castle 🥾☕️🥾
