Today's a lovely loop from Oosterbeek/Arnhem. A pleasant and scenic walk. Woods, meadows, and streams with waterfalls. You'll also come across war memorials and graves.
A beautiful and varied clog path. Through estates around Oosterbeek with many beautiful beech and oak avenues. And of course a bit through the Groene Bedstee. Continue through the floodplains of the Lower Rhine where it is now very muddy. And finally through the area of the Hemelse Berg with waterfalls and small streams.
Very nice and varied clog path. With a campsite as a resting place.
Yesterday my left knee protested... Today he said that it was possible to do the 14.9 km walk around Oosterbeek with the Airborne Museum as starting point. I got into my car and after 47.1 km I would arrive at... 12:04. The time each day sees... adding up to 7... my birthday. What a great walk with beautiful pictures, waterfalls, climbs, steep hills, forest, meadows, flowers, forest paths... Wonderful on my own...!! Worth repeating!! 💜 And I also walked from B to A. My cell phone battery was dead! 😅
A circular route from Oosterbeek, starting at the Airborne Museum. I walked clockwise, and I must say I think it's the best way. I found a lot of natural variety on this path. Lots of small waterfalls and a lot of beautiful forest. Thanks to the volunteers for this beautiful path. Everything was great. There will be a video about this path on my YouTube channel, Frans fietst en wandelt (Frans cycles and walks).
A while back during a Photowalk I got this route as a tip, we had to walk this clog path sometime. So today at 9 o'clock in the car and off to Oosterbeek. In Oosterbeek we first had coffee at the Oude Herberg and then parked the car at the Airborne Museum. That's where the clog path started. We walk via the Hartenstein estate to the Hemelseberg, an estate with beautiful forest, lovely lanes and waterfalls. Then we walk via a smooth boardwalk past the Oude Kerk of Oosterbeek, one of the oldest churches in the Netherlands. And through the floodplains along the Nederrijn with a view of the railway bridge, an important point in the Second World War. The path is named after Kasteel Rosande, but nothing remains of it. Then we come via the Veluwe moraine to the Marienwaard estate, one of the most special estates in the area around Arnhem. The unique Groene Bedstee is a 300m tunnel-shaped hedge. We also pass the Lichtenbeek estate, with the Airborne cemetery. Finally we arrived back in the centre of Oosterbeek, where we could not find the last part of the route that well due to roadworks. We had a drink at restaurant Hartenstein, and then we went home.
Hiked Klompenpad Rosande near Oosterbeek today. The route is named after the former Rosande castle located southeast of the village of Oosterbeek in the floodplains and at the bottom of the Veluwe. The route is versatile and varied; the images speak for themselves. Today (Feb 17, 2024) the path through the floodplains was fairly good to start with. We didn't have to take the alternative route.
