This route was planned by komoot.
The hike along the coast is beautiful! The bridge is out and because of the construction, we couldn’t follow Komoots suggestion, but the detour we chose was also really awesome. We wanted to park in Ciolo, but you should park in Novaglie and follow the route in the opposite direction we did, so the sun isn’t in your eyes when you walk along the coast. There were so many olive tree groves and a million little orange wildflowers. It was easy to dream of a home here with olive trees 🤩😅
It climbs with a steep gradient from the start. Then the trail changed...the snakes were to blame. We had to find some good, big pieces of wood just in case. Once we got past the tall grass, it was more reassuring. Great hike, magnificent view. Swimming at the bridge. Bring a good pair of trekking shoes and shoes for swimming in the rocks.
Dear hikers, the coastal path is only safe to walk in dry weather and with suitable footwear. Now in May, the paths through the olive groves are highly recommended, but not so much in hot weather.
