Get off at the 'Kasteel de Haar' stop and from there walk just a short distance to the castle.

The village probably originated in the Middle Ages right under the protection that the walls of Kasteel de Haar could offer the village.
The castle village has hardly developed over the centuries. About 25 thatched and tiled houses were grouped around a green with large trees. The village had an inn that also served as a council chamber.
Already in the first concrete plans for the restoration of the castle around 1891, there is talk of a necessary relocation of the old Haarzuilens for the construction of an extensive park and hunting area. That is why the new Haarzuilens will be located 1.5 kilometers to the east (the current location). In 1898 the residents were able to move into their new houses.

Today we made a small tour of about 5 km around De Haar Castle in Vleuten. It was a very beautiful, varied route. The castle was beautiful to see…. we will definitely go there again when we have purchased museum tickets again. And - because it's allowed again since yesterday without a QR code - we visited the catering industry again today and we have enjoyed a Cappuccino with a delicious sandwich for a long time 😊😊
