Amazing ride! Comfortable climb on military road from Cancano lakes, then light push to Rims peak and then Piz Umbrail. Epic descent that I imagine everyone knows, nothing extraordinary or particularly difficult, but very beautiful. Then climb of about 300m on a cart track and then epic traverse in Switzerland to Cancano lakes. Consider about 25 km from the end of the descent from Umbrail. Tour NOT for downhill riders only.
We rode up the Val Mora and encountered a surprising number of gravel riders...!🤔
Today's tour is impressive due to the beauty of the landscape! In terms of bike technique and fitness, however, today wasn't particularly demanding. We start at the Umbrail Pass, climb up to the Boccheta di Furcola, cross to the Bocchetta Pedenolo, and then ride a very long way down the old World War I military road to the Laco di Cancano, covering 900 meters of elevation in one go. After that, the more or less flat 8 km run follows the two bright blue lakes, Lago di Cancano and Lago di San Giacomo, before branching off into the Val Mora. This beautiful, wild and romantic valley stretches up to Döss Radond and then descends endlessly to Santa Maria im Val Müstair. As I said, this tour is for the impressive scenery. We have other biking options in store! 🥵😎🤩
