Mountain biking

First the climb – then the enjoyment. That could be the motto of this tour. In other words: This tour begins with a tough climb that immediately takes you from the start in Brixen into the beautiful mountains of the Kitzbühel Alps. So, right from the start, a bit of stamina is required. Alternatively, you can also take the gondola up to Hochbrixen and skip the first 500 meters of elevation gain.

But several motivating highlights await you at the end of the climb: The idyllic Filzalmsee lake is an ideal place to take a break, breathe deeply, and enjoy the view of the mountains. If you'd rather be pampered all around, you can stop off at the rustic Filzalm nearby. Even more rustic is the Frankalm hut a little further on, or even a little further on, the Silleralm hut. Here you'll find snacks and homemade cakes. Whatever motivates you: just take it easy, take a break, and enjoy the beautiful nature. You can do it!

The rest of the tour is a reward. There's a lot of downhill, and you'll pass through beautiful towns where you can take a short break. You'll finally cycle back to Brixen via the Brixental cycle path. While this cycle path isn't technically challenging, it's beautifully situated and offers several cozy places to stop for a break.

Filzalm Hut

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The rustic alpine hut towers at 1300 meters at the foot of the "Hohe Salve" and directly on the idyllic Filzalmsee.

The Filzalm is the oldest serviced alpine hut in the Wilder Kaiser-Brixental mountain world
and was newly renovated in spring 2017.
We have taken great care to traditional crafts
with high-quality materials and to maintain the rustic style.

Hearty delicacies, a cozy atmosphere
and a fantastic panoramic view invite you to linger.

Very nice, rustic Alm. Very good schnapps. The beer is cooled in the hut under running mountain spring water. Only 15 minutes from Filzalmsee.

The Brixental cycle path runs here along the Brixentaler Ache, which you cross over this small bridge. A nice bike path, which is ideal for warming up before a bike tour - or to cool down afterwards!

Lendwirt Inn

Highlight • Restaurant

Starting point for rewarding mountain bike tours into the Windau Valley. Particularly worthwhile destinations are Straubing (rest stop with alpine flair - cheese, bacon and bread from our own production are served here) and the Gamskogelhaus with excellent dishes from local cuisine.

The ascent to the Filzenscharte and the subsequent descent into the Salzburg Salzach Valley are a challenge for particularly ambitious bikers.

June 29, 2023, 🌞🚴🚴 Wilder Kaiser ...MTB-Tour von Söll um die Hohe Salve nach Brixen

The MTB Tour 350 starts in the village center of Söll and leads over the Salvenberg to Hochsöll, where many experiences await. We cycle from the village via the roundabout to the valley station of the Hexenwasser gondola lift. Immediately afterwards, turn right through the underpass up to the Salvenberg. Over switchbacks and partly in the cool shade of the forest, you go past the Gasthof Salvenmoos to Hochsöll. If necessary, the Berggasthof Hochsöll or the Gründlalm will fill up the empty storage tank again. In the Hexenwasser we can relax with relish and let our souls dangle. For the kids there is the Blue Wonder, the walk-in cherry, the bee house or a delicious farm ice cream. A short walk (sliding stretch) through the Hexenwasser to the show stable "Am Vieh Theater" at the Stöcklalm is also worthwhile. From the Hexenwasser we continue up the MTB Tour 265 around the Hohe Salve. From the Salvensee there is a rapid and winding descent down to Brixen im Thale and from there you can take the well-developed valley cycle path 21 in the direction of Itter back to Söll
