Hiking
This beautiful circular hike takes you around 11 kilometers around the famous Gastlosen. The striking limestone cliffs are particularly popular with climbers and a great sight for hikers.
The starting point is the Musersbergli mountain station. The path towards the soldiers' house initially leads you above gentle meadows and barren forests before you reach a landscape of striking limestone cliffs. Some walls rise up to 300 meters.
This is followed by a climb on stony paths that will challenge your calves. At Wolfsort, which lies at an altitude of 1,921 meters, you have reached the highest point of the tour.
From there it goes downhill, with a magnificent view of the Valais 4,000-meter peaks and the Bernese Alps. You cross green mountain meadows and come across the Gambach, whose course you follow for about one and a half kilometers. You pass the Grat alpine hut, where you can stop for a bite to eat, or you can take the last two kilometres which will take you back to the starting point.

Very demanding tour, altitude meters are not recorded enough in the Komoot...clearly not suitable for people with knee problems! But it's worth it!!!😊
Chair lift closed today due to maintenance work until the end of this week at the beginning of October 2023. We drove up to the barrier-free parking lot. Hike very varied. It has everything a hike offers, including a little scratching😅. On the way back we stopped at the Solatenhaus. The worst part was behind us. Simply fantastic 🤩
Terribly beautiful, difficult hike around the Gastlosen chain.
Counter-clockwise imperative if the foot is not sure. Passage du loup, without a safety chain, can be difficult for a child. My 7 year old and 1m35 daughter passed it with difficulty, but with pleasure. Varied and magnificent landscapes and a good-natured and friendly atmosphere between hikers.
My tour around the Gastlosen follows the SchweizMobil-Weg 262 (https://schweizmobil.ch/de/wanderland/route-262), but it has an altitude of 200 meters more... The tour is very varied and panoramic, leads through wild forests, over well-kept alpine meadows and over rocky paths, always along the Gastlosen with its steep limestone walls, the Grandmother's Hole (a rock window) and the jagged rocks. Some sections, especially between the soldier's house and Wolfort, are very steep and somewhat exposed. Although the temperatures are mid-summer, it is unmistakably autumn. On the one hand, the leaves are beautifully colored, but on the other hand, the position of the sun is already relatively low, which results in somewhat dark photos. Hopefully you can still see the beauty and charm of the tour.
Beautiful walk lasting about 4 hours, 12km, around the Gastlosen. There is only one point that is a bit critical for vertigo sufferers, but doable. Better to leave early at 9 to go around calmly. The last chairlift that goes down is at 5.30pm. It's a very well traveled trek!
With better weather than originally announced, we hiked around the Gastlosen climbing mountains. It goes up and down and several sections are demanding (big differences in height from step to step). Visibility was limited because of the clouds. But a worthwhile tour.
For a change, a hike instead of "always" bike tours. A wonderful round trip around a whole mountain range - namely around the Gastlosen. Practically on the whole hike you have these impressive boulders right in front of your nose - always different and simply fantastic. The route follows a very well signposted circular hiking trail. Some passages, each only a few meters to a few hundred meters long, led over extremely slippery rock. Somehow smeary-dirty-wet. But all of these spots are in safe places. Otherwise: a very easy tour.

If you look at the Gastlosen rocks you would think you were in the Dolomites👍
