A magnificent panoramic summit circular hike on the Gaisberg in Kirchberg in Tirol. The starting point of the tour is the Gaisberg lift mountain station, from where a hiking trail leads through a picturesque forest to the Bärstattalm hut. This is where the rather challenging ascent to the Gaisberg summit (1,770 m) begins. The route continues along the ridge of the Gaisberg Mountains to the Gaisbergjoch summit (1,749 m). Along the way, you'll repeatedly enjoy fantastic views of the Wilder Kaiser, the Loferer Steinberge, and many other mountains. From the summits, you'll reach a spectacular panoramic view of the entire Kitzbühel Alps. The route returns past a pilgrimage chapel to the Bärstattalm hut and continues to the Gaisberg lift mountain station. From here, a hiking trail winds its way through the forest, partly on a path and partly on paved roads, down to the village of Kirchberg. The hike continues along the Aschauer Ache stream and past a church to a swimming lake, before returning to the village, where the hike ends. It's a very beautiful hike. The trail, which is difficult at times, is always interspersed with stunning views that make the effort seem less than worthwhile. The fantastic weather also contributed to this this time, of course.
Today we went to the mountains again before we leave tomorrow! The Gaisberg was the goal of desire! After conquering the Gaisberg and Gaisbergjoch, we went to the Bärstättalm. As soon as we got there, there was a serious storm. Fortunately, we found shelter and nice table partners (greetings to the troops from Hessen and congratulations afterwards! We wish you a nice holiday!)! 👍🍻 We were perfectly catered for on the Alm! From the kitchen there were delicacies that are second to none. The greetings from the kitchen were perfect too! We felt extremely comfortable there! Absolute recommendation from me! Unfortunately, due to the effects of the storm, we could no longer walk into the valley and had to let us drive. The small outlier occurred relatively at the beginning of the tour because the Jägersteig was closed due to the risk of falling rocks and we could not walk it!
We took on this suggested route in fairly mediocre weather. Contrary to what was recommended, we did not take the lift to the first ascent, but instead walked the 500 metres. In retrospect, it was the right decision. You can take a breather with the wonderful view over Kirchberg, and there are varied paths along the way, with lots of little highlights. Once you reach the mountain station, you continue another 450 metres towards the top of the mountain, which requires a bit of scrambling here and there. While the first ascents led through enchanted forests and over lush meadows, the great views open up further up. That's what we heard... because it snowed where we were and thick clouds were looming where we thought we were. The ridge to the second summit cross nevertheless suggests that fans of impressive impressions will not be disappointed here. Overall, a great and varied circuit that leaves nothing to be desired when the weather is nice.
