Yay! It finally worked out to cycle around the Steinhuder Meer. Last year a flat tire turned our planned bike ride into a nice little walk... Now I was amazed at the diversity of the entire round: Of course, a good part of it goes along the water, but also through the fields - asphalt and gravel alternate (sometimes a bit more difficult to ride on a folding bike with slicks 😅), it then goes past the marina, swimming areas with a really nice beach , suddenly through a piece of forest and through the NSG Totes Moor (attention: better not stop, but drive through quickly - gigantic, highly motivated swarms of mosquitoes!!! 😅) and back via the bathing island with a snack. Luckily I only had the apparently obligatory Steinhuder Platte from the bathing island... 😅🙈 The tour is highly recommended (with tires with more profile or enough spare tubes 😉), like a day's vacation.. definitely imitate it!
A trip to Lake Steinhude, a visit to the butterfly farm, and a ride around Lake Steinhude on a rental bike. Good bike paths and signage. The weather was great. We had a wonderful time. 😊

A beautiful, well-developed cycle path with plenty of cafés and public restrooms, only a few short, muddy sections, and quite varied scenery. Plenty of charming photo opportunities.
Very nice circular tour that leads along good cycle paths. First right by the sea, then through the nature reserve and heathland. To finish, a fish sandwich in Steinhude and a stroll in the center 👍 Great cycle paths, highly recommended. 👌 PS: I would recommend doing the circular tour in the morning. At 10 a.m. there was already a lot of bicycle traffic and a few hikers were out and about. It probably won't be much fun in the afternoon!
This Sunday we once again strapped our e-bikes to the little Frenchman at our place of residence and rode 120 km to the Steinhuder Meer and circled it. The highlight was coffee and cake at the "Flying Barista" in Mardorf. Rosterei with great cakes, our top was caramel & espresso cheesecake 👌👍
A really nice round around the Steinhuder Meer. There was just one very unfortunate thing: about a million other people rode with us.
