We took the bus to the Arlberg Pass in Sankt Christoph to go on a hike before our journey home. From the hiking car park we hiked on the Berggeistweg over the Albonagrad (2241 m), which lies above the Verwall reservoir. We continued to the Kaltenberghütte (2085 m), which stands on a mountain edge and offers a huge view of the Klostertal and Flexenpass as well as the opposite peaks of the Lechquellgebirge and the Verwallgebirge. We were able to enjoy the regional delicacies one last time before we started the descent over the Paul-Bantlin-Weg back to the parking lot in St. Christoph. That was a great end to the four-day hiking trip with the Black Forest Association Breisach. Everything was well organized with great accommodation with great food at the Hirschen in Imst.
The Berggeistweg trail initially led gently, then later became steeper, winding up to a saddle with a view of the Pateriol. Passing Lake Maroi, we reached the Maroijoch Pass after a short climb. With a view of the Klostertal valley, the trail led us to the Kaltenberg Hut, where we took a well-deserved break. Afterwards, we hiked back along the Paul-Bantlin Trail. The trail continues along the hill, past the Albona Lakes, and back to St. Christoph.
Picture No. 17 shows purple gentian It was a great hike and we were lucky with the weather. Until the last hour of the hike: it started pouring so suddenly - then there was a thunderstorm - that we were all soaking wet. Unfortunately also the 👟. In the certainty that my 👞 won't be dry by tomorrow, I bought new shoes in St. Anton. Unfortunately I forgot a second pair of hiking boots at home 😡 But I was 🏊 in the lake, which is a little above the Kaltenberghütte. It was fantastic at 2,120 m 😀👍

Superb tour. Not difficult. Be well equipped because it can snow at the top, and the weather is changeable. A nice refuge for lunch, Kalterberg Hütte.
The tour begins in St. Christoph on the Arlbergpasshöhe at 1800m. You can park there in a large parking lot for hikers. It goes up over the Berggeistweg, which is very easy to walk. Up to the Maroi peaks it is a bit more demanding, but still very manageable. In addition to the charming landscape, the destination is the Kaltenberghütte. From there the way goes back over the Paul Bantlin way to St. Christoph. This way back takes place on very easy to walk paths. Unfortunately, on our tour we could not enjoy the full panorama, but sometimes only guessed it. However, it was mystically charming, even if with temperatures sometimes below 10 degrees for the beginning of August it was a bit cool.
