The 23 km long Mittelland Canal route runs steadily along the bank of the Mittelland Canal, the busiest waterway in Lower Saxony. From the "Auf der Horst" tram station, drive directly to the water and choose the direction of travel to the east. Soon you will come to the north port and the Mecklenheide forest. You cycle on to Brinker Hafen and past the rainwater reservoir and the water police you reach the marina.

There you cross the canal and then cycle a bit along the other bank, where you meet the historic Buchholz windmill. The side canal to the Misburg harbor branches off very close by. The Anderter lock, completed in 1928, marks the end of the Tour and the Mittelland Canal - up to 20,000 ships per year pass through this lock.
