Gravel riding

Many people like to reach Saint-Émilion by bike, on this route, I suggest you come back instead. The most famous village in Bordeaux is indeed accessible by train and it is very easy to get there to visit a cellar or two and return with small provisions in your bags.

The vines as far as the eye can see make you discover the Dordogne which passes at the foot of Saint-Émilion. The roads are winding and tortuous, offering at each bend a view of wine estates renowned by their appellations.

Don't forget that you have only traveled a few tens of minutes by train to find lost roads and hidden paths to discover the practice of gravel.

After the locality of Curton, a path spans the Canedone on a small, excessively bucolic stone bridge.

The wine roads make their way to Biron where you cross the clearing between forest and meadows.

The Roger Lapébie track then leads to Lignan-de-Bordeaux. Take the time to stop at the Bistrot de la Pimpine, located on the edge of the Lapébie trail, it is a real landmark for cyclists.

The descent to Bordeaux is made by crossing the wood of Loc Boué, a small haven of peace at the foot of Bouliac.

You find Bordeaux, to pick up a corkscrew at home and open these pretty bottles that are in your bags (in moderation, of course!).

Right on the railway cycle path, nice use as a bistro.
For me, of course, particles and coffee.
In front of the train station there is nice information about the cycle path.

Parc du Loc Boué Pond

Highlight • Lake

This unexpected little haven of peace sometimes welcomes sheep on transhumance, hence the barriers making access a little less practical.
