Premium hiking trails on Lake Constance are an absolute dream 🤩👍
Lake Constance land courses "GuckinsLand" Parking: Parking lot at Gehrenbergturm, on K 7750 Arrival: car, or bus/Ghrenbergturm stop. Start from the parking lot. Start, then 100m to the Gehrenberg tower, which is open, to the Gehrenberg slide, past the "Paul Wirth Wegkreuz", over the "5-Lände-Blick" to the historic Markdorf water supply. This 16 km long loop is certainly a premium hiking trail, well signposted, with many rest benches, and a few also have tables. Now on February 9th, after heavy rain, some paths are well softened and muddy, but still easy to walk on. You shouldn't be afraid of dirty pants and shoes. Further informative information in my collection “Lake Constance LandGänge”
After buying strawberries 🍓 in Kressbronn 🏘 to... https://www.gehrenberg-bodensee.de/tour/gehrenberg-guckinsland/ start: Schweppenen hiking car park 🅿️ (free) via easy-to-walk, fantastic meadow paths, forest trails, and paths to the "Gehrenberg Tower" 🗼 the 30-meter-high tower was built in 1903. Lana climbed halfway up and then waited for me 😜 from the very top, you have a fantastic view in clear weather. Descent... further... over the "slide," a landslide caused by an earthquake in 2011 past the lounger swing, which invites you to relax, and further through farms 🏡... soon a rest area invites you to take a break for refreshments. Through beautiful forest 🌳🌲 clearings, wooden bridges to another rest area and directly through "lonely farms" for a break with homemade ice cream 🍦 along the way there are always great views into the distance. Of course, I'll relax again at the "Five Countries View" 🫢 I can't see anything, the clouds are hanging too low and it's hazy. These paths are simply beautiful, they lead me from the beginning to the shot... to my starting point.
The premium hiking trail GuckinsLand was on the plan today. The start was on the cool, foggy morning at the Fürstenbergweg parking lot. We saved ourselves the ascent to the tower, since no view was to be expected. And at the Möggenweiler parking lot we actually took the wrong turn - chatted too much, not paying attention. And because turning around was out of the question, a short stretch more or less cross-country followed. Only at noon did the sun come through and the forest presented itself as early autumn, but still more green than colorful. That will certainly change soon. At the end of the tour we are still on the Gehrenberg tower to at least have a look from above on the surrounding area. Lake Constance was still in the haze and the mountains could not even be imagined.
After the weather has improved this morning, I could start the second tour today. https://www.bodensee.de/erleben/natur-und-aktiv/landgaenge-gehrenberg I ran or got lost on a similar tour a few years ago. The route wasn't so well signposted back then. Thanks to the good signage, this tour was also easy to manage without a map or aids. Due to the rain of the past few days, there were a few larger puddles from time to time. Otherwise a very varied route.
A full circuit of the Gehrenberg. From the Gehrenberg Tower, the Gehrenberg Slide, to the 5-Country Viewpoint. A truly beautiful tour with panoramic views (weather permitting 😉) along forest paths and meadows.
Second of three "Lake Constance shore leave". The title "Premium Hiking Trail" is absolutely justified. Great signposted path. Getting lost, even without navigation, is hardly possible. Paths well prepared and great to walk. The name "Look into the country" is also justified. Again and again wonderful wide views of the surroundings of Lake Constance but also of the lake itself. Especially from the Gehrenberg tower (149 steps), which you can reach after about 2 km. The path leads as far as possible through lonely but always very varied nature. There are no places to stop. But after about 7 km there is an old, apparently abandoned farmstead where you can help yourself with ice cream or cold drinks for a donation. Splendid. I love something like that 🥰 ! All in all, a really, really beautiful and varied hike. Clear recommendation!!
Very well signposted, varied circular route around the Gehrenberg with beautiful views!
