Wooden Bridges of the Hoëgne Valley

Highlight (Segment) • Bridge

One of the most beautiful sections in the valley of the Hoënge, because it goes over numerous wooden bridges and small bridges, sometimes right, sometimes left along the rushing river. Everywhere small waterfalls are splashing.

A great and easy tour with water and wide fields. At the end there is a small refreshment stop.

Very nice walk… as one of the walkers said, perhaps the most beautiful of the Ardennes 😊

@Visitwallonië. A very nice walk, partly along the rippling water.. And partly along an open landscape.. highly recommended.

This was a hike just right for me! 😄👌 If you enjoy hiking along root paths and narrow nature trails beside rushing water, you'll definitely enjoy this tour! 👍 +++ 🐻 +++ +++ +++ +++ +++ +++ +++ +++ +++ Source: https://www.komoot.com/de-de/smarttour/e105569518/sart-lez-spa-im-tal-der-hoegne-belgische-ardennen https://www.komoot.com/de-de/user/belgienwallonie "On this hike, you follow the ever-winding course of the Hoëgne River, which develops from a small trickle to a wildly romantic, rushing stream. You start at the beautiful Promenade de la Hoëgne and are already in the middle of nature. The Hoëgne meanders through rocky banks and repeatedly flows through the rocks like a waterfall. At the small "Cascade Marie-Henriette" waterfalls, the river collects in rock pools with crystal-clear water. Cairns erected by hikers make this place a particularly beautiful photo spot. Afterwards, you'll walk along numerous wooden walkways on the "Chemin sur les ponts de Hoëgne" through one of the most beautiful sections of the valley. Waterfalls trickle around you and small ponds gather here and there. At the Ponte Centenaire, you'll cross the fairytale bridge of the Centennial and leave the Hoëgne. The path now leads you deep into forest areas, which will accompany you until the end of your circular tour. At the end of the tour, you can stop for a bite at the cozy restaurant Le Chalet du Pont de Belleheid. 🐻****************************************🐻 Directions by car 🚗: Bridge Belheid parking lot, Roquez 49, 4845 Jalhay, Belgium 50°30'29.0"N 5°57'37.7"E

Second time we did it. At the top there is a diversion because the path is flooded by the quake and its castle. Nice ! Remains a beautiful walk 🍀

A delightful hike along a wild and romantic brook - highly recommended. https://wandermagazin.de/de/45/tourenportal/321/im-tal-der-hoegne-in-belgien.html I realized too late that the track is actually closed at the moment.

We have already walked the route, at least the first part, in 2022, but there was little water. Our plan was to return when the river was fuller and that was it today. The path along the HOEGNE is a dream. You should plan plenty of time to marvel, enjoy and take photos. If you cut through here, it's your own fault. The way back was monotonous at times, but you could walk faster and look at the summer flowers along the way. Good footwear is a must on the changing and sometimes very wet ground

A breathtaking landscape and a challenging trail along the river (approx. 5 km long). This is, in my opinion, the most interesting part of the route. The remaining kilometers lead through forest with an incline and a fair bit past fields. So, the rest of the route is rather "boring." The hike was still worthwhile, with some great people along the way. 🙂
