This route was planned by komoot.
The route begins in the inland mountains, covered in dense Mediterranean scrub that releases intense, intoxicating scents in spring. It then descends toward the sea, reaching Vernazza with a pleasant downhill stretch: in summer, a dip in the sea opposite the small harbor is a must. The return from Vernazza to Corniglia is the most challenging section of the entire route, with an initial climb reaching 20% in some places. The effort is rewarded, however, upon arrival in the village, where panoramic terraces offer some of the most beautiful views of the Cinque Terre. After leaving Corniglia, the route continues uphill, but more gently than the previous stretch, until returning to the starting point.
Difficult route, critical points, from the end towards Monte Soviore, but doable, at the crossroads with the Bardellone road I lost the path and went down the Grotta Colle on asphalt (while there was a path just ahead). Then from Colle di Gritta the route to Punta Mesco is very difficult and you often have to get off your bike. I took the path that goes down to Monterosso, but it is very steep, narrow with steps, it takes a long time to get off the bike. Not worth it for me.
