Via Claudia Augusta from Landeck to Lago di Resa

So today the second stage of the Transalp.🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️ Start with optimal weather in Landeck with an initially gentle ascent and many bridges over the Inn.🌁 The first hard ascent at midday and at high temperatures went from Alt-Finstermünz up to the pass to Vinadi. Then a spectacular descent including a gallery tunnel to the Austrian-Swiss border town of Martina. It was all uphill from there.⛰️↖️🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️ At almost 37 °C through 13 curves. 〰️➰️〰️➰️🌡🥵 From 1035 m above sea level to the Norberthöhe at 1405 m. And then came the south wind. 💨🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️ He came toward us from the Reschenpass. And put the brakes on us and our euphoria quite a bit. The Reschensee in the sunshine with its famous church tower and an isotonic drink at the end made the effort quickly forgotten.

Starting in Zams, we took the Tramserweg trail as a warm-up to the Fließner Platte. What a wonderful piece of land up here. Arriving in Fließ, we turned left and headed towards Pillerhöhe/Gacher Blick. Up here, you have a fantastic view over the Inn Valley. As a reward, the long descent along forest roads to Ried followed. We continued via Pfunds to the old Roman customs station in Altfinstermünz. We followed the old Reschenstraße and a fairly new cycle path to Martina. Here, the Reschenstraße was closed to cars for the "Three Countries Trail." Upon request, we were allowed to ride with our bikes "carefully alongside." Nevertheless, we couldn't resist overtaking several racing cyclists. To be fair, they had already covered at least 120 kilometers and gained 3,000 meters of altitude. We then continued via Nauders to the destination of Reschen.

Because of the rather unfavourable weather forecast, the safe option with a complete cycle path. Unexpectedly beautiful route, hardly any road, suitable for gravel and definitely road bikes. In Switzerland, the detour due to the construction work on the road is actually the best option. At the end, the well-known mental test to Norbertshöhe. Lesson of the day: now the 12-year-old is already leaving me behind uphill😳😄

From Zams we continue along the beautiful Inn, past Altfinstermünz🚴🚴🏿‍♀️ And up to the Reschenpass💦💦💦 We had originally wanted to take the bus shuttle, but then - what can I say - the bikes race along as if by themselves... and we have to go with them... and bang, before we can think about it, there is no turning back... and we pedal, on and on, curve after curve (how many of them does this damn mountain actually have?🥵)... sweat, let's go on💦💦Aaaahhhhh😅😅😅😅hard to believe, we are at the top of the Norbertshöhe‼️⁉️‼️⁉️‼️⁉️💪💪💪👌🤘👏👏👏 Now we are really proud of ourselves👌✌️👏🤩🤩🤩 and are enjoying arriving in Nauders, what a day😍

Today we went from Landeck to Nauders. The morning was quite rainy...from around 1pm it became increasingly dry and warmer. We made a little detour into Switzerland and then wound our way up the serpentines to Norbertshöhe. Tomorrow we're going to Merano!

The most difficult stage is now over 😍and the anticipation for the next stage is already there ❤️ Conclusion: It is only as difficult as you make it 😉😃

From 🇦🇹Zams it goes past 🇦🇹Landeck through the Upper Inn Valley to the Swiss border at 🇨🇭Martina. There the climb begins over the serpentines to the Norbertshöhe, from there on to 🇦🇹Nauders and the Reschen Pass. After circling the 🇮🇹 Reschensee past 🇮🇹Graun and finally up again to 🇮🇹Langtaufers to the overnight hotel ****Langtaufererhof Altitude difference according to kiox: 1920

On today's third stage, we rode up the Inn Valley toward Pfunds. Beautiful Alpine scenery characterized the tour. From the Claudia See, we followed a romantic gravel path to Altfinstermünz. At the Klausen Schenke, we fortified ourselves with delicious apricot cake (sugar) before the ascent. A short stretch through Switzerland, then came 11 hairpin bends to Norbertshöhe, and the sky turned gray. We arrived in Nauders dry. It was wonderful again 👌
