Half-timbered houses are typical of the Alemannic language and cultural region, and thus also for the Kraichgau. The architecture combines aesthetics and function in a very special way and the houses are also stable: some of them have been standing for over half a millennium.

From Vaihingen/Enz train station, a beautiful tour around Illingen through numerous villages with very beautiful half-timbered houses
Nice, quite pleasant tour through field and forest. You will also come across a few beautiful old villages with half-timbered houses. Behind Gündelbach you pass a lake where you can swim. In Ensingen you can join a guided tour (please inquire about times) at Ensinger Sprudel or buy fresh regional apples and other delicacies at Mauch. Otherwise you can enjoy the beautiful Kraichgau.
Nice tour but unfortunately 2 to 4 days too early for the almond blossom.
