Trail Reviews

Mike 🧭
June 17, 2025, The Fusedale Round & Hallin Fell ⛰️

Really enjoyed this hike, even with a bit of rain and fog, and also some strong winds, but that was actually nice to cool me down after some of the killer uphill sections lol. Didn't see a single person all day until I got back to the car park, had the whole place to myself which was perfect 👌🤣 6 x Wainwright's today ⛰️ Loadpot Hill #102 - 672m Wether Hill #103 - 671m Arthur's Pike #157 - 533m Bonscale Pike #161 - 524m Steel Knotts #195 - 432m Hallin Fell #203 - 388m

Day 5: East Martindale Loop from Hallin Fell A beautiful outing from Hallin Fell, taking in Hallin Fell itself, then onwards to the edge of beautiful Ullswater just before the brutal pull-up to Bonscale Pike and onto Arthur’s Pike, where you get gorgeous views overlooking Ullswater. On a sky blue morning it was then over the back of Loadpot Hill to Wether Hill, just over the halfway point before the last leg to Bronthwaite Crag and Steel Knotts and the steep descent back to the endpoint. A fantastic weather day for it before the rain comes in. Not a long day, but a pretty hard one. Parking: Ample parking by St Peter's Church and on the other side of the road. Route Summary: Good trails and paths all the way round, but it was a very brutal first ascent up to Bonscale Pike. It would be a brutal first climb the other way if you chose to do Steel Knotts first too. The views from Hallin Fell are super nice; so are the views from Bonscale and Arthur's Pike. Heading over Loadpot Hill, the views of the Nab are great. All in all, a super nice route.Route Statistics: 15.5 kilometres, 890 metres of height gain done in 6 hours.

Beautiful day and great views Steel Knotts, Wether Hill, Loadpot Hill, Bonscale Pike Arthur's Pike and Hallin Fell

Cracking 9 mile walk but my god its hell coming down very steep in places especially when your knackered
