Sanctuary of the Virgin of Alba

This tiny sanctuary, but of great significance in the Marian devotion of the Asturians, is on the Alba cliff, at 1200 meters above sea level, in one of the most mountainous Asturian municipalities, Quirós, from where you can see an imposing spectacle of mountains, landscapes and You almost get to see the sea. It is enough to point out the nearby peaks surrounding the Peña de Alba: Pelitrón peak, Toriezo peak, Peñarueda, Fontan that with its 2408 msnm is the highest in the area, Cigalia with 2000 msnm of altitude and the best known, although not the highest peak of the Gamoniteiro with 1782 msnm. As it is said, from the peña de Alba you can see the entire mountainous area of Quirós.

Very simple and easy tour absolutely recommended for who wants to spend some few hour in the nature.
Reached Santa Marina, due to the low temperature and my not idoneous equipment I decided to come back and not to go further fir the last 6 Km.
