You'll experience Sardinia's dramatic mountainous landscapes, with roads winding through coastal cliffs, forested mountains, and cork oak groves. Expect stunning views throughout, including ancient watchtowers and small rocky bays. The island rises steeply from the sea, offering a mix of challenging climbs and fast descents.

Sardinia is often referred to as a 'cyclists' paradise,' and the best times are typically spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October) when the weather is mild and pleasant for cycling. Summers can be very hot, and winters might bring more unpredictable weather.
As this is a road cycling route, it is generally not recommended for dogs to accompany cyclists, especially given the moderate difficulty and potential for traffic. For their safety and yours, it's best to leave pets at home for this specific tour.

Found it to be a very enjoyable tour, particularly the 20km on the quiet country road from Orosei towards Santa Lucia. I refilled the water in the Trattoria Santa Lucia by the sea (see highlight). Unfortunately didn't feel like taking a photo break, so the only two photos are from the half-time break in Santa Lucia. Note: The GPS was not calibrated, so the altitude readings are only relatively correct and not absolute.
Fast lap, first part on a slightly busy road, consistently good asphalt. Second part then through the lonely hinterland. No possibility to fill up drinks there. The final ascent is not high, but violent when the heat is right. My starting point: agriturismo S'Ozzastru. Then off to the pool👍
