A 24-kilometer bike tour through a beautiful, water-rich landscape with the Rhine always in view. Along the way: architectural gems from both ancient and modern times.
This exceptional bike tour begins on the Rhine promenade in Wesel, taking you past the small but charming marina. Then it's on to the dike, along the Rhine. From here, you have a magnificent view of the Rhine and the Auesee lake.
The tour then continues towards Grav Island, a huge campsite, and a good stretch around the Flüren Old Rhine. The Droste Woy and Westerheide nature reserve is also located directly on the Flüren Old Rhine branch. Stop off your bike, explore, and enjoy the rich biodiversity!
The next attraction on this route is just a little further on: the Rhine dike and the Keer Tröch II passenger ferry. Here you can take a break before the ferry takes you and your bike to the other side of the Rhine. Back on solid ground, the route leads to Bislich Island with all its rare species. You might even spot one of the white-tailed eagles! You'll cycle on through the beautiful waterways, with plenty of opportunities to rest and enjoy the scenery.
The old viaducts of the historic railway bridge, which you'll pass, are a special and impressive structure from a bygone era. A little further on, the Lower Rhine Bridge in Wesel spans the Rhine. Fascinating views await you!
Then you'll cycle through the impressive Lippe floodplains, and almost back to the starting point of your loop, there's another lovely viewpoint: the still-standing bridge pier of the old railway bridge. Short or long break? Then it's back to the starting point.

Today we explored the route between Wesel and Bislich, which @Lustiges Wesen already knows well, having grown up in this area, but which was still completely new to me.
