A lovely walk from Kincardine O'Neil, the oldest village in Deeside. The highlight is clearly Dess waterfall, so it's best to go after some rain. At weekends the little take-away corner café and Treasure, the rock & fossil shop in Kincardine O'Neil tend to be open and are worth a visit.
No. 20 of my #100komootwanders_2022 challenge. 💛 Sunday 17th April 2022 Kaspar, Kiddo and I enjoyed the morning, heading just a 10 minute drive from the Caravan at Kincardine O'Neil (known as the oldest village in Deeside). This walk utilised a section of the clearly signed "Deeside Way" between Banchory and Aboyne. on leave the waymarked Deeside Way we continued right and stretched our legs with a wander up to Dess Waterfall. This was a good circular route that has clear signage and good tracks - particularly along the Deeside Way. However once beyond the falls if completing the circuit, a bit of navigation is required to complete the loop even with clear land rover tracks to follow.
