Today I tried the press "Southern Germany's best trail". The trail in Albstadt is 33 km long and has 900 vertical meters. The signage is very good and the single trail descents with curves and outriggers, small to larger drops are really well done, but I would have liked the single trail portion to actually be 10 km specified is greater. Unfortunately, you waste a lot of vertical meters downhill on forest and gravel paths 🤷♂️ In summer when it's dry, the trail is probably even more fun, unfortunately it was pretty wet and muddy for me today. All in all, the trail is fun and the people of Albstadt made a real effort when putting it on, but whether it's enough for the title of best trail in southern Germany is debatable 👀🤔🤷♂️😉✌️
Finally did the Cube Rocks tour in Albstadt today 🙂 It's great what's being done here for the bikers 👍👍 Thank you to the builders 🙂 Crisp climbs and descents, flow trails and a few more demanding technical trails I was really excited 🙂 OK on the Muliweg with an incline of Ü20% on gravel I had to push 50 meters, and I couldn't avoid 3 hairpin bends either 😭 As When I was back at the Badkap parking lot, the clock only showed 960 HM, so cranked up to the Ochsenberg Hütte 🥵 and did a little EKS 😋🍺, then over a few trails to the car, although the weather wasn't overly warm today (18 degrees), I 🥵 started sweating quite a bit. Exhausted but very satisfied, I now dedicate myself to sleeping on the sofa🙂 Don't be surprised that I'm doing so many tours right now because next WE we'll be supporting Melchior on his QdD Tour 1,000KM in 50 hours ♥️ I can't get around to biking there 🙂 but it's worth it to me 👍 More information about Melle's positive "crazy event" 😉 see here https://www.radelnundhelfen.de/de/aktionen/melchiors-projekt-2023-50 h-through-germany.html?cycle-and-help-e-cc And really every cent donated goes where it is urgently needed 👍
REBI Runde, ALB-GOLD Wadenbeißer and GONSO Trail: Three different mountain bike trails of different levels of difficulty make Albstadt a Mecca for daring cyclists. With "Cube Rocks", the city on the Swabian Alb will have another challenging route for organic and e-mountain bikers from mid-September. At 33 kilometers and with a total of 920 meters of altitude, athletes will not only make their calves burn, but also enjoy unique panoramas over the Eyachtal.
Unfortunately, partly, poorly signposted. The uphill flow is really awesome. For me personally, the downhills have too many hairpin bends. Most of the route in the forest (no view), but pleasant temperatures even on summer days.
Today we cycled the Cube Rocks 4. It was nowhere to be found on komoot until now. It's under the motto 😜 you torture yourself 🙈! Such uphills a real nuisance. Also a few nice trails and two challenging S1+S2 Cube Rocks Trails to let off steam. I admit the switchbacks are too difficult for me, but you still have to have goals. The starting point is at the Baskap car park. Happy descendants!
A beautiful route with a fair amount of forest roads, but also some nice uphill and downhill trails. An uphill trail with switchbacks is also something special! The switchbacks on the penultimate downhill section are challenging, and I couldn't ride them all.
After a hearty breakfast and a cozy tidy-up, it was unfortunately 😢 time to head home again. Of course, not without doing the great Cube Rock's Trail 👍. At the Badkap parking lot, we took the bikes off the car and off we went. The trail offers something for every mountain biker: forest paths, single trails, 🐷 steep climbs 🥵, brilliant views, flow trails, and some slightly tougher steep sections, partly with hairpin bends 🤗. Since the route was changed and I missed a turn-off, my tour doesn't quite match the original 😉. Today's tally for the girl: one fall while standing plus a scratched ego 😉. For me: 2X approx. 10 meters of uphill pushing 😢 and pretty exhausted after the tour 🥵, but still a broad grin 😁 on my face when I think about today 🤗.
Destination reached, bikes and drivers empty. Lamps needed again despite an early start.

Whether it's storm damage or an event: Before you start your tour, take a look at the current closures at albstadt-tourismus.de/service/streckeninformationen to avoid unnecessary surprises!
