Beautiful hike 500 meters downhill on the edge of the lava field from the eruption in 1706. Wonderful views of Garachico again and again. Good thing we were wearing our hiking boots. On the serpentines downhill there were larger stones and scree, sometimes with a gradient of over 20%, so surefootedness was required. I usually take photos here with my camera, and the photos are then assigned to the route based on the GPS data provided by the camera. The data is not as precise as from the sat nav or the Suunto watch, and that is why the location and order of some of the pictures are incorrect.
The view of Garachico constantly offers new perspectives during the entire descent and makes you curious about a stroll through the historical place.
Very beautiful but very steep hike with a great view. When you arrive in the town and have parked at the top, be sure to take a leisurely rest. At the very end or at the beginning you can walk a bit along the road and up the stairs. Before you start the climb up the mountain. It might be a few meters further but you save yourself the steep uphill or downhill section. And the stairs have a railing. 😄
Sunny greetings from the beautiful island of Tenerife, dear Jakob... I wish you a great time too and am looking forward to your next tours! ☺️
A dream tour in dream weather with dream views!
Garachico is a small, charming town on the north coast of Tenerife. Here you will also find the small seawater pools and several restaurants, cafes and small shops invite you to linger. We took it easy today and hiked from Garachico to the village of San Juan del Reparo. The Camino went steadily uphill. At times we went through pine forests that smelled of pine needles.🌲After returning to the starting point, we had a delicious lunch of Spanish tapas in the small restaurant La Perla.🇪🇸😋
We did the tour the other way around, starting in Garachico. The path is always easy to find and sturdy shoes are recommended as it goes over loose stones and rubble. Good fitness is required for the ascent and stable joints for the descent... You will be rewarded with a great view of Garachico and the surrounding area.
