Today the lower basin was full to the brim. Total contrast to the beginning of September, when I did the rounds around the empty lower pool. But today there was ice on all paths, but everything was passable, although often along the edge. Just a nice ring.
Start at the free parking lot directly at the dam of the lower reservoir. The circular trail is well signposted, with plenty of rest stops along the way.
Unfortunately, there wasn't much to see of the reservoir. The dryness is frightening 😳
Planned for a long time and after a suggestion from yesterday, we ran together 👫 today. The lower basin is still almost dry. The mills are in winter quarters. On the way home it was again quickly over the Fichtelberg 🌬 at 3 degrees 🥶. From there you could see the missing water in the lower basin, it is in the upper basin.

Again a must-do. Today around the lower basin .. And what can I say: because there was hardly any water below, it was an absolutely unreal landscape. You think you're somewhere else. Totally thrilling. And it's really ideal for running there. And with "high tide" definitely worth seeing again.
To conclude in the beautiful Erzgebirge, another round around the Markersbach Reservoir. It started at the free parking lot at the dam wall. This short circular trail, which is well signposted, runs along the edge of the water with many beautiful views of the reservoir. The path is also easily passable by bike.
