Today I followed a track, changing only the starting point. The plateau is definitely a playground for bicycles, whether gravel, MTB, or road bikes. However, today was not without moments of reflection. What was the point of the sacrifice of so many young soldiers if, many years later, we still see too many dying every minute. And the civilians... At the foot of Monte Mosciagh there are three cemeteries where now only the headstones remain, as the bodies of the victims were exhumed and taken to the Military Shrine of Asiago. In that area alone, more than 50,000 soldiers died, 30,000 Italians and 20,000 Austrians, and only a portion were identified. The route is almost exclusively on the dirt roads built during the Great War (1915-18), forest roads through beech woods, and along a short track that is challenging in parts. A beautiful day and a great ride.
Beautiful circular tour.. I recommend.. the path (S1-S2-S5) in the woods is very technical.. only for EXPERTS.. have fun..

Getting to Ortigara from Camporovere is always a feat, perhaps even more so today due to the arrival of the first heat of the season that has made itself felt, consuming all our water supplies, and there are no fountains. The various climbs, although not with high gradients, eventually wear you out because you are always on rocks and you reach the top after a good 27 km. The first path is difficult in the upper part, then when the gravel and rocks thin out it becomes very fun, level S2. Then the Terremore path continues always very pleasant with 4/5 counter slopes, level S2/S3. In any case, always a great satisfaction. 💪
nice ring ride on the asiago plateau. it starts right from Asiago near the ice stadium where there are ample parking lots. the tour, apart from crossing the country, is all on dirt, single track and wooded roads. the climb is quiet and panoramic and partly in the woods. in the last ring there are pushed sections, but you are rewarded by the panorama. the return is in several sections on non-trivial and fun singles. a must is the stop at the Zebio hut where they have an exquisite soppressa with fillet. after the hut there is a very funny stretch and then a (short) piece in the middle of the woods with fallen trees where it is difficult to follow the path. for this stretch you need a little patience or look for an alternative
Nice ride. Difficult above on Ortigara. Beautiful descent into the woods with a single track path in the S2 S3 type forest
