The little brother of the "Big Hirschenstein". The landscape has been far superior to its big brother since the last storms. A worthwhile destination for a break with a distant view and a very special silhouette at sunset. 👍

The nature and mining trail to the Hoher Forst is one of the Heart Trails, the most beautiful day hikes in the Ore Mountains. It meets all the criteria for nature and offers, among other things, a diverse landscape and fascinating information about the region's World Heritage sites.

I changed my hike today three times in less than 24 hours, and the result was this beautiful circular route, which deserves a full 5 stars 😊 A beautiful hike, lots of forest, but beautiful and worth knowing. This time it was also well signposted, in contrast to the last round 😄 Two small sections were a bit overgrown, but that wasn't too bad, they were just nettles 😂

At -7 degrees and ☀️ sunshine we went on a short hike to the Hohen Forst today.

If you are looking for a short but very beautiful hike, this is the right place for you. The path never gets boring, there is a lot of mining history in the Erzgebirge, and you can also learn a lot about nature (great information boards from the NABU). You have to bring your food from your backpack, but there are very nice rest areas with great views. For me, the route is an insider tip👍

Something new today, a hike, a mining trail and mushrooms 🍄 🍄‍🟫🍄‍🟫 galore. I can't remember ever having seen so many 🍄🍄🍄.

Today Tom picked a beautiful route for us and we walked it as a family. The nature and mining history trail near Kirchberg on the western edge of the Ore Mountains is very beautiful and well-maintained. We hiked a lot through the forest and repeatedly had great and wide views of the beautiful landscape. We were lucky at the Engländerstollen. The mining brothers were working and we were allowed to view the small exhibition and ask questions. In the extensive forest area, many former mining sites of the old miners could be seen. Through the information boards, we learned a lot about past mining. The alpine trail from the small Hirschenstein should be approached with caution. Currently, the many blackberries growing there are still a bit restrained, but certainly not in the summer. 🤔😅
