This beautiful and large loop of 34.3 kilometers and 2,300 meters of elevation is intended for trail runners who wish to discover all the secrets of the Ossau valley. This route takes you on a route that delivers the most beautiful views of one of the most emblematic peaks of the Pyrenees, the Pic du Midi d'Ossau.
The starting point of this odyssey is in the free Bious-Oumettes car park. You start with a gradual climb in the forest which continues on beautiful grassy expanses before ending at the Col de Suzon. A pleasant false flat leads you to the Pombie refuge before diving towards the Gave du Brousset.
From the river, the path climbs again on the sides of several peaks that delimit the Franco-Spanish border. From the peak of Astú, a beautiful portion of ridge guides you to the peak of the Moines while dancing on the border. This spectacular summit offers a magnificent panorama over the Ossau valley and the Spanish side.
The trail descends again to Lac de Gentau via the pretty Lac Bersau before climbing back up to the Col d'Ayous. A wonderful new view of the Ossau valley and its lakes is revealed to you. From the pass, you take a new ridge line that runs to the Aule valley, passing through the soum d’Aas and the turon Garié.
This magnificent valley suggests a last glimpse of the Pic du Midi d'Ossau before plunging into the forest and reaching your starting point for images full of your head.
