Mill Dam Lochan

Nestled below the slopes of Craig More and Deuchary Hill, Mill Dam is a pleasant little lochan. It forms the approximate halfway point on the Atholl Woods circuit from Dunkeld. The shore makes for an ideal picnic spot, whether you're heading back down to the village or continuing to a summit or the nearby Loch Ordie.

January 15, 2022, Deuchary hill and Loch Ordie

We set out on a cloudy day and soon found our stride on this moorland path. Deuchary hill offered a few buddy scrambles, but the stunning views were worth it. Loch Ordie was sleepy and smooth as a mirror. A long way home.
