From this point, you overlook the full 5-kilometer-long sand tongue of Inch that cuts into Dingle Bay. In front of you, the ocean stretches out with the rugged contours of the Iveragh Peninsula and the peaks of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks on the horizon. The contrast between the golden-yellow dunes, the deep blue bay, and the green Slieve Mish mountains behind you makes this one of the most photogenic stops on the route. An ideal moment to park your bike and soak in the sense of scale of the Wild Atlantic Way.

The pub was opened in 1920 by Tom Crean, the Irish polar explorer who survived three legendary expeditions to Antarctica with Scott and Shackleton. A unique place full of history to catch your breath in the heart of Annascaul, before you get back on the pedals towards the rugged coast or the mountains of Dingle.

Connor Pass Viewpoint

Conor Pass (An Chonair) is a narrow, rugged mountain pass where the climb from Dingle immediately falls into a steady rhythm: long stretches of 6–8% with some shorter bursts towards 10%, while the road winds its way up along rock faces. The asphalt is good but narrow, with limited space to pull over and sometimes strong crosswinds that hit the flank from the valleys. As you get higher, the landscape opens up and you see the lakes and peat slopes sinking away below you. The summit is windy and bare, but offers a wide panorama towards Brandon Bay — and a fast, technical descent on the north side where you ride through narrow bends and open sections with varying wind pressure.

Today we drove our "city bikes" over the pass. Went amazingly well. Stunning countryside and quaint towns. On the way back, Komoot probably thought again, we're doing a trekking tour on foot. It took us home over sheep meadows and rock bridges with balancing ropes over rushing rivers. That was fun with the heavy bikes😂😅
