St Michael and All Angels Church

Highlight • Religious Site

The footpath goes right through the grounds of this Grade II listed Norman Church. It dates back to the c.950s. As you walk through, take a careful look at the gravestones as not all is as it seems. Can you spot the 'No Ball Games' signs designed to blend in with the tombstones?

Abandoned Cars on Box Hill Hike

Highlight • Structure

If anyone can tell me how on earth these cars got here, halfway down a steep and narrow path, I would be very glad to know. Been trying to work it out for years!

Mickleham Common

Highlight • Natural Monument

It's a climb up to Mickleham Common but it's well worth it for the feeling of of being on top of the world up here.
During the Second World War, Winston Churchill would use the common as his landing strip on visits to Lord Beaverbrook, a member of the War Cabinet, who lived nearby.
