Trachsellauenen Mountain Inn

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The Berggasthaus Trachsellauenen is located in the Hinterer Lauterbrunnen Valley, in an impressive landscape and in close contact with the waterfalls, framed with an impressive summit panorama on several three and four thousand meter peaks. The inn can be reached on foot from Stechelberg in around an hour.
The mountain inn Trachsellauenen includes the Sennhütte, a unique shelter for drying clothes and the oldest holiday house (1730) in the valley. Over the beautiful sun terrace with the picturesque deciduous trees, ten romantic double rooms invite you to spend the night.

Oberhornsee

Highlight • Lake

The Oberhornsee is located in the rear Lauterbrunnen Valley at an altitude of 2065m above sea level.

It is a true gem in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch. Small and blue, it lies in an impressive alpine landscape of the Bernese Oberland.

Depending on the weather, the Oberhornsee dries out almost completely in late summer or autumn, as it is not fed directly by the meltwater from the Breithorn.

July 9, 2024,Oberhornsee mit Eisbad 🥶😃 - Stechelberg
Beautiful hike with countless wow moments through the Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounded by the Breithorn, Tschingelhorn, Jungfrau massif, mighty glaciers, roaring waterfalls and countless blooming mountain flowers, the Oberhornsee lies at an altitude of 2,065 m and invites you to swim in its turquoise, crystal-clear, albeit ice-cold water.
An alpine mountain landscape straight out of a picture book …

Not much going on in the farthest reaches of the Lauterbrunnen Valley at this time of year. If you walk anti-clockwise, it's OK as far as sun exposure goes. Totally peaceful 😆

A beautiful beautiful tour. On arrival we drove past Lake Brienz, which was already a pleasure. Also the drive through Lauterbrunnen. The first part of the tour was shady, but from the first cow pasture, it continued in the blazing sun. I'm not sensitive, but if you have problems with that, you'd better do this tour when it's a bit …
