Franzosenkreuz Memorial

This memorial cross stands at 1,450m on the Höllkampl on the way from Seewiesen up to the Voisthaler Hütte and commemorates the retreat of the population in the war against the French under Napoleon around the year 1805. The current cross was erected at this point in 2009 - before that there were already a wooden cross and an iron cross, which were badly damaged by avalanches in 2007-2009 and therefore had to be replaced.
