The climb up Monte Garnasco to the view of Bellagio is over a trail and hills and dale that are quite steep in some places. You have to keep an eye on the red and white markings. Once at the top, very vigilant dogs guard the property there. So don't be alarmed!

This route, lasting about 2 hours, starts near the hamlet of San Giovanni in Bellagio and reaches, after a sometimes challenging ascent, the viewpoint Makallé which offers an extraordinary view of the Bellagio promontory.

Just before reaching the viewpoint is the Baita Belvedere, a traditional cuisine restaurant with a view and really honest prices.

This is a beautiful circuit away from the crowds in Bellagio. It took us around 2 1/2 hours, and the views from the top were amazing :) Be aware, however that the descent uses a rather narrow and steep singletrack path on side of a very steep hill, so you will need to be sure-footed!
