Unfortunately, the Blue Lagoon could also be called a garbage lagoon. There's trash everywhere. Plastic waste floats in the sea and isn't inviting for swimming. It's a shame that some people treat nature like this.

A simple walk down a broad track used by 4x4s. Broad enough for both. Good views of the sea throughout and good swimming opportunities at the half way point. Easy parking at the start and refreshments to be had.

The Aphrodite Trail is a very worthwhile hike on the north coast of the Arkanas Peninsula. The much-advertised "Blue Lagoon" is, as we expected, completely overcrowded and littered. The crowds are brought here by boat... Fortunately, we anticipated this and spent our day at the beach undisturbed and clean in one of the many smaller and much more beautiful bays …
