View of Rote Flüh and Gimpel

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Gimpel and the Rote Flüh are also affectionately known as 'Tannheimer Dolomiten' with their nearly vertical slopes and extensive Karfeldern. If you wander up the dramatic slopes to the summit, you'll be impressed by the scenery.

Chamois Observation Point

Highlight • Viewpoint

Most mountain hikers have probably encountered them before, as they are primarily active during the day and scan the surrounding area for danger from good vantage points. However, they can also be found in the middle of the forest.

July 29, 2023,Rote Flüh🥾⛰️( 600 Tour )🫡 🥳
Since the weather is currently not making mountain planning easy, you occasionally have to soak up a bit of rain 🙃

You almost need a degree to know the weather forecast 🙃 But if you check it early and keep an eye on it during the tour, worse situations can often be avoided. You should always check possible descent possibilities …

Rain, fog and a chamois made me turn back😅😥

The starting point was the Schmitte/Gimpelhaus car park, the parking fee is 5 euros per day.
It took me a good hour to climb to the Gimpelhaus, then another 1.5 hours to the summit, so a total of 2.5 hours.

...once again in the Tannheimer Valley 🇦🇹 and in fantastic autumn weather the Rote Flüh with its great backdrop.
This time some chamois were actually just a few meters away; we had never been so close to these mostly skittish animals and 🤩... we had taken a break just below the summit, but off the route.

and the best thing was the crowning finale.

> the cooling off in Haldensee, the beach section at Haller is top-maintained and right next door in the restaurant/cafe "Platz´l am See" you can let the day end culinarily.

...back in the Tannheimer Valley in fantastic weather.. Start/finish was the west car park in Nesselwängle 🅿️ Ticket 5€ (no card payments possible / accepts the amount - coins only - no refunds); even here we were almost alone / only 3 cars next to us 🤩... and as a result, apart from a few climbers, we hardly met anyone …

Fantastic tour today to the Rote Flüh, which has been on my list for ages, but somehow I never got around to it. Parking in Nesselwängle for a mere 8.00 euros. 😬 It's a wonderful walk through the forest up to the Gimpel-Haus and then through the alpine landscape under the Tannheimer climbing mountains up to the Rote Flüh. From …

Originally I wanted to take the train via Pfronten to Reutte and then take the bus to Nesselwängle.
By chance I looked at the connections again the evening before - oh dear: on this Thursday of all days there are NO trains between Pfronten and Reutte/Garmisch because too many railway staff are sick!!
So I drove by car, with the …
