Glender Wiesen Nature Reserve

The Glender Wiesen Bird Sanctuary nature reserve has existed since 1989. It is one of the few remaining large-scale wetland areas in Upper Franconia. With the construction of the Goldbergsee to protect the city of Coburg from flooding, large areas of the nature reserve were flooded in 2010.
