The Götaplatsen is one of the most important squares in Gothenburg at the southern end of the Kungsportsavenyn (engl. King's Gate Avenue). It was inaugurated in 1923 on the occasion of the celebrations for the 300th anniversary of the city. The cultural center is located around the Götaplatsen: These include the concert hall (the venue of the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra), the art museum, the art hall, the city theater and the library. In the center of the square is the eight meter high bronze figure and fountain of the sea god Poseidon,

Mölndals Kvarnby Waterfall

Mölndal literally means ‘valley of the mills’. The Kvarnby waterfalls provided the power needed for the first mills and factories. At the time, the site was unspoilt, and gradually, as industrialisation took hold, the town developed around the waterfall, making it a rarity: a natural waterfall in the middle of a town.
It is now a local tourist attraction, easily accessible on foot from Mölndal railway station and tram stop.
