March 29, 2025,Schlettau -Ottomar-Zahm-Steig – Orgelpfeifen
A beautiful tour, unfortunately without views today, but still with many highlights. The daffodils and bluebells are blooming in the castle park, and the organ pipes are stunning. The fantastic climb up the mountain (840 meters above sea level) was a completely new experience for me.

A beautiful tour in the Erzgebirge mining region. My hiking friend @Jana Weller discovered the tour. She has a golden touch for beautiful tours.

We started in Schlettau-Markt, and our destination was the Scheibenberg, via the Ottomar Zahm Steig. The steps up were a bit strenuous; each step is a different height. Strenuous, but worth the climb. After about 8 …

Today was girls' hiking day. We were actually supposed to go to Lönigsmühle for the cultural festival, but shortly before we set off we found out that it doesn't start until 4 p.m. on Friday. So we had to re-plan and looked for the tour from Schlettau to Scheobenberg. From Schlettau we first go along a quiet residential street into …

Today we went to the reopening of the Schlettau Castle Museum. Before we went to the disc mountain. The exhibitions in the castle are really worth seeing, especially that of the trimmings, where a show takes place every 1st Sunday of the month.

Nice weather, good visibility, the paths either slippery or muddy. But it was nice. Unfortunately the inn on the Scheibenberg was closed, but the snack bar was open.

Actually, the climb up the Scheibenberg was also planned. But the paths didn't allow it today - they were either completely icy or you were ankle-deep in mud. But in other conditions, it's a great option and highly recommended.

Tour 30 from the Rother hiking guide Ore Mountains.

A very varied tour: from forest and meadows, the basalt rocks of the organ pipes to the castle in Schlettau, the tour has a lot to offer.
The tour can also be started at the train station, since you can park well there on the hard shoulder.
First the tour leads …

This varied circular tour started at the paid parking lot at the castle in Schlettau. We continued on the Kirchsteig in the direction of Walthersdorf and further on the Sparrguschenwaag with signs "Dar Sparrgusch erklärt". The best part of the tour was the ascent of the Scheibenberg. However, I struggled to get up the Ottmar-Zahm Steig 😮‍💨 This trail was …
