Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

Although very flat and initially from Hull the surface is excellent, about half way to Hornsea it becomes a very poor track. This track is only really suited for Mountain bikes. Harder work than you would think on my Hybrid. Needs surfacing all the way.

View of Holderness Drain

Before the Holderness Drain was constructed in the late 18th century, the landscape was a vast, watery marsh. The drain replaced a more natural watercourse that functioned as a key transport route through the area and was ultimately created to reclaim this land for agriculture by managing flood risk.

This is the straightforward ride which is on the old railway line which was joining both Hull and Hornsea with most Villages in between.
It’s great alone or with friends and family, it a kind of tailored to your liking be it fast and intense or just steady as you wish.
