The high Dörnberg is one of the highest elevations in the district of Kassel. The place is best reached on foot, but it can also be climbed by mountain bike. On the normal way one reaches the high Dörnberg from the direction of the nature park center past the Helfensteinen over the cow pastures. With the mountain bike this is a bit more difficult as you have to cross gates at the cow pastures. The MTB has to be lifted over it, because otherwise it does not get through the turnstiles.
