Voidomatis River

Highlight • River

If you like cold water, this is a great place for a dip! The Voidomatis River is exceptionally cold as it originates from underground springs in the Vikos-Aoos National Park, high in the Pindus Mountains. These springs are fed by the melting snow and ice from the surrounding peaks. The surrounding trees keep it icy throughout the year.

The Voidomatis is known for its crystal-clear, cold waters, peaceful nature and historic bridges.

Hike from the Kleidonia Stone Bridge to the next bridge crossing the Voidomatis river. The tour ends at a big parking lot - most of the rafting tours are starting there. We asked one driver for the rafting people if he could bring us back to the Kleidonia bridge (where many of the rafting tours are ending) and he gave …
Today was a wonderful day for a leisurely hike along the Voidomatis - one of the coldest and cleanest rivers in Europe! 🌿 The trail began at the picturesque, ancient bridge of Klidonia from 1853. This starting point alone takes you back in time, the landscape is so peaceful and charming.
The old trees, especially the huge plane trees, which …
